Claridge's, LONDON
From the first glance at the building, it is clear that the basis of its general concept has maximum openness. It can be interpreted in different ways: literally -- as the abundance of opened not limited by anything spaces, and as modernity and tradition openness, the various interests and new aesthetics ... The first in Germany hotel-loft was opened in the former industrial building construction of 19th century: symmetrical brick buildings with high semicircular windows and central turret above the entrance. Today, the hotel has become one of the most visited in Europe.
Already in the hall of Gastwerk Hotel a visitor sees an unusual picture. A five-storey space, which used to store tons of coal, is a single vertical volume. The absence of closed rooms does not prevent the preservation of clear space hotel architecture and consistency of a certain continuity of its individual parts.
To creating this impression serve rightly placed optical accents and meanings: a stone sculpture of the Asian warrior at the entrance, a huge television screen, or genuine church watch by the Administration desk, large arrows are forever stuck in the situation "five minutes to twelve."
The hotel has 135 rooms, including three large rooms, 54 loft-rooms with individual designs, and 78 classic hotel rooms.
In the vast loft-space there are spacious rooms for conferences, small cozy studies for meetings, open space for business-meetings. Light rooms, filled with air, suit for the creation of work atmosphere. Space for creative ideas - this is the concept of the architect and the owner of the hotel at the creation and presentation of this part of the hotel.
A special place in the space of Gastwerk Hotel takes the restaurant Da Caio, it has won a great popularity not only among the guests of the hotel, but among the residents of Hamburg as well.
